LGMDA to Dissolve June 30

Lawn & Garden Marketing and Distribution Association of Bel Air, Md., will cease operations after nearly 40 years of representing manufacturers and distributors of lawn and garden products. Citing insufficient support and funding, LGMDA’s board of directors voted to dissolve the association, effective June 30.

A portion of the association’s remaining funds will be disbursed back to current members. Pursuant to the association’s bylaws, funds remaining after all bills are paid must be disbursed to another nonprofit organization.

The board selected Barbara Hauf Cancer Foundation as the recipient of the remaining funds. The recently established foundation aims to support families in the lawn and garden industry that are dealing with cancer.
