(Courtesy of Kodama Koi Farm) | Kodama Koi Farm will hold a workshop on how to grade and price koi to maximize profits. The “Right Grading, Right Pricing and Right Profit” workshop will take place Feb. 23 in Hawaii, and it is open to koi and pond professionals.
“Visiting many koi and pond stores throughout the United States, I found many did not properly grade and price koi, thus losing profit,” said Mamoru Kodama, founder of Kodama Koi Academy.
After a short in-class seminar, Kodama and his son Taro will provide a hands-on lecture where attendees will harvest one of the farm’s ponds. Using those koi, attendees will learn how to hold, separate and price koi. The harvested koi will be available for sale after the seminar.
Because of limited seating, $100 is required to secure a seat. The money can be applied to any purchase made during the day. For details, e-mail taro@kodamakoifarm.com or visit www.kodamakoifarm.com.
In related news, the 4th Japan Nishikigoi Expo and the 3rd Aloha Koi Show will take place Feb. 20-21 in Hawaii. Attending these events along with Kodama Koi Farm’s workshop will maximize the learning experience for professionals, according to Kodama.
