Aquascape Acquires Aqua Rock Fountain Manufacturer

| Aquascape Inc. acquired Aqua Rock Fountain Kit, which manufactures bubbler fountains, including this N.Y. bluestone fountain. | Aquascape Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of pond and water garden supplies, reported in December 2009 that it acquired Aqua Rock Fountain Kit, a Shakopee, Minn.-based manufacturer of natural stone bubbler fountain kits sold under the same name as the company. Aquascape moved Aqua Rock Fountain production to its St. Charles, Ill., facility.
Aqua Rock’s founders, brothers Joel and Ben Forsberg, currently serve as consultants, according to Aquascape spokeswoman Jennifer Zuri. Financial terms of deal remain undisclosed.
“Joel and Ben Forsberg are entrepreneurs at heart, and acquiring their product and adding their skill set to our team will allow us to pursue new opportunities in entry-level fountains and kits,” Aquascape founder and CEO Greg Wittsock said in a statement.
The patented Aqua Rock Fountain Kits are designed to be installed in 30 minutes and marketed as do-it-yourself projects. The Aqua Rock Fountain Kits include an underground water basin, a water pump and a pre-drilled natural rock.
Aquascape expects to begin shipping the Aqua Rock Fountain Kits, which come in four styles, in the first quarter of 2010.
