Utah Approves Rainwater Harvesting

Utah lawmakers passed a bill that permits the personal collection of up to 2,500 gallons of rainwater. Signed by the governor on March 22, Senate Bill 32 reverses a decades-old prohibition on rainwater collection in the state. Sponsored by Sen. Scott Jenkins, a Plain City Republican, SB 32 requires registering with the state and buying a standardized storage container.
