The International Professional Pond Contractors Association plans to host the fifth annual Ponditat for Humanity at the New Covenant Church in Lincoln, Neb., on June 24.

IPPCA Contractor members, known as Top Guns, plan to rework the church’s existing pond, such as adding bog filtration along with a face lift and waterfall. The existing pond was built by a local congregational member and business owner several years ago to greet the New Covenant Church congregation as it enters the facilities for worship services.

Work also will be done, time permitted, on a leaking pondless water feature on New Covenant Church premises.

New Covenant Church congressional member Danny Keelan nominated his church for the Ponditat for Humanity 2010 project. Keelan is a member of the International Pond and Water Garden Society, the hobbyist side of IPPCA. The New Covenant Church’s community services include Celebrate Recovery, Community Corrections Ministry, Royal Family Kid’s Camp, Step Out and Serve and We Love Lincoln Outreach.

The New Covenant Church project is expected to be completed on June 26. The IPPCA negotiated a lower hotel room rate for all Top Gun attendees. For details, visit www.ponditatforhumanity.com/2010/index.html.

Ponditat for Humanity is sponsored by The Pond Professional of Woodstock, Ga., and the Fielding Pump Co. of Sandy, Utah.
