Rolf’s Recommendations

(Courtesy of Dirk van der Made) | The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department added several aquatic plants for review for possible inclusion on the 'white list' after Rolf Nelson of Nelson Water Gardens & Nursery in Katy, Texas, submitted a list in March after reviewing the department’s initial list. Chief among his suggestions was including Nymphaea as a genus and not consider it species by species, noting that “without question this is the most important group of plants economically to anyone in the water gardening trade at any level.”
Nelson’s other suggestions were:
Acorus gramineus Acrostichum danaefolium Alocasia amazonica Bacopa caroliniana Bacopa monniera Bletilla striata Cabomba caroliniana Colocasia illustris Crinum procerum Cyperus haspans/C isocladus Iris ensata Ludwigia sedioides Nymphoides hydrocharioides Phalaris arundinacea Victoria cruziana Victoria regia Zephyranthes grandiflora
