| Deborah Hamlin, Executive Director of the Irrigation Association. | Citing the need for urgent action regarding increased fuel costs, Irrigation Association of Falls Church, Va., joined Coalition for Affordable American Energy. “Rising fuel costs mean rising operating costs for irrigation equipment manufacturers, distributors, contractors and end users,” said Deborah Hamlin, the Irrigation Association’s executive director.
The coalition was formed to provide a united voice for businesses affected by rising energy and fuel prices. It will lobby Congress and the executive branch to take immediate action to greatly increase the development of domestic energy resources in an “environmentally sensitive” manner, according to IA.
The coalition will support exploration and development of domestic oil and natural gas supplies while promoting conservation of current energy resources and continued funding and research into renewable and alternative energy sources, the IA reported. National Association of Wholesalers is acting as executive secretariat on the coalition.
