New York Gift Fair Opens this Weekend
Several divisions of the massive, semiannual New York International Gift Fair open this Friday, Feb. 1, while the main hall at the Jacob Javits Convention on Manhattan’s West Side opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 and runs through next Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Several divisions of the massive, semiannual New York International Gift Fair open this Friday, Feb. 1, while the main hall at the Jacob Javits Convention on Manhattan’s West Side opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 and runs through next Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Complimentary beverages and snacks for retailers from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday through Tuesday might draw people to the show’s division furthest away from the convention hall, New York’s Newest at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St.
Other highlights include a “Made in the USA: Sourcing and Selling American-Made Products,” seminar Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Javits, room 1A02-03. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on site. A breakfast meeting, “Color Pulse 2009,” Feb. 4 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Javits room 1A02-03 will serve up color trend forecasts along with croissants. Two seminars focusing on green issues – one for retailers and another for manufacturers – will run on Monday at noon and at 2 p.m. Click here for more information. Companies offering pet and water garden products and accessories will be scattered throughout the show’s four locations, with a shuttle bus running between each.
