Size: 18"
Catfish are sometimes kept in outdoor ponds in the southern United States. These fish have a large, disc-shaped mouth with which it hangs onto rocks and driftwood.

Care Requirements: Catfish prefer water temperatures in the 70s. It must not go below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, except for short periods of time.
Feeding: Require vegetable matter and driftwood in the diet; will eat vegetables and aquatic plants.
Temperament: Peaceful.
Breeding: Bred by males digging tunnels in the earthen sides of ponds; males guard eggs and babies; very prolific.
Additional Information: In ponds with Goldfish and/or Koi, Plecos are unnecessary for their clean-up abilities; interesting pond inhabitants in warm regions.
