A small, drab, gray fish that looks similar to the common guppy.

Care Requirements: Mosquito fish will live almost anywhere in water above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. They can remain in an outdoor pond over winter provided the pond does not freeze solid, and it retains an open place in the ice for gas exchange. They need 2' to 3' of unfrozen
Feeding: Mosquitoes and other bugs are favorites, but they fare well on a dry prepared food.
Temperament: Peaceful.
Breeding: A livebearing fish, Gambusia multiply quickly with a litter of babies every 30 days They can breed at 4-5 months old.
Additional Information: Originally from Central America, Gambusia now are found nearly everywhere in the world. They were introduced for their ability to eat mosquitos. They breed so fast they can displace native fish species. In some places where they were introduced to control mosquitoes, they are considered a bigger pest than the mosquitoes.
