Halogen pros:

• It offers a bright light at a lower initial cost.
• It can run on low voltage.

Halogen cons:

• It needs more frequent bulb changes.
• It costs more than LEDs do to operate.

LED pros:

• The bulb might last longer, meaning less frequent in-pond light bulb changes.
• It can run on low voltage.
• It costs less than a halogen does to operate.

LED cons:

• It costs more initially.
